More than 70 new bike share stations planned for Boston

Residents are encouraged to attend the workshops, which are hosted by the Transportation Department.

The Jimmy Fund Walk and Allston Brighton Parade are taking place, among other events.

The Transportation Department is holding Beginner Basic Skills and Intro to Street Riding Skills classes this month.

Hub on Wheels and other special events will be taking place.

A total of 28 workshops have been scheduled between September 9 and November 16.

Caribbean Carnival and Parades

Residents are invited to plan locations for 70 new bike share stations in the City of Boston.

Prices at about 530 metered parking spaces on 40 blocks in the South Boston Waterfront will change on Monday, August 7.

Puerto Rican Parade

The signs will be installed on local streets where traffic safety issues are a concern.

The new signs are expected to improve mobility by making walking to destinations in the area easier and more pleasurable.

The Neighborhood Slow Streets program is a community-based effort to reduce speeds and improve the quality of life on Boston’s local streets.

Bastille Day, the Run to Home Base 5K, and the Betances Festival will all affect traffic.

We received 47 applications for the 2017 Neighborhood Slow Streets program. Using the objective criteria described in the application, we've selected five new communities to join in 2017.

We will be prohibiting vehicle traffic and restricting parking on select local streets in Boston.

The Transportation Department is sponsoring a bike ride — free of charge — to teach people how to use Hubway bike share system.
