Based on your stories and ideas, we have created initial designs for Pleasant Street. Our goal is to calm traffic speeds and make crosswalks better for kids, elders, and people with disabilities. We want to hear your stories and ideas.

The City of Boston is working to enhance biking and walking for neighborhood residents. We met you in nine locations locations over seven months in 2019 and 2020 to hear what you love in Lower Roxbury and where you envision changes to your streets. Last summer we met with you virtually and in person to confirm your priorities. Now we are working on next steps.

This is the fourth community meeting to establish the types of uses and activities the community would like to see in a new center. We're recruiting 20 to 35 year old Boston residents from all across the city to participate in Mayor Wu's 2022-2023 SPARK Boston Council, a volunteer group of young adults dedicated to advancing civic engagement in their generation and beyond, apply now.

Boston’s Age Strong Commission seeks grant applications from organizations and individuals who are working to build social connections and community for Boston’s older adults. Grants will range from $5,000 to $25,000*. We welcome applications from groups engaged in intergenerational and multigenerational programs and practices; groups working with diverse communities; and groups that employ creative and innovative approaches. 

The Age Strong Commission will hold an information session for those interested in applying on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at 11 a.m. (EST).
