City Council Committee on Ways and Means hearing on docket #0750

FY17 collective bargaining agreements between the City of Boston and the American Federation of State, Country and Municipal Employees AFL-CIO, Council 93 and Locals (AFSCME). The Chair of the Committee is Councilor Ciommo and the Sponsor of the docket is Mayor Walsh.

    Message and order approving a supplemental appropriation of One Million One Hundred Ninety One Thousand One Hundred Twenty-Two Dollars ($1,191,122.00) for various departments to cover the FY17 cost items contained within the collective bargaining agreements between the City of Boston and the American Federation of State, Country and Municipal Employees AFL-CIO, Council 93 and Locals (AFSCME). The terms of the contracts are July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017 and July 1,  2017 through June 30, 2020. The major provisions of the contracts include base wage increase of 2% effective the first pay period of October of each fiscal year. The agreements also contain other benefits including a new clothing allowance starting in 2017 and steps beginning in October 2018.

     

    This matter was sponsored by the Mayor, and referred to the Committee on  May 24, 2017.
