RE: COVID-19, Temporary Practices
ATTENDANCE
In accordance with Governor Baker's July 14, 2022, Act Extending Certain COVID-19 Measures Adopted During the State of Emergency, with respect to the Open Meeting Law, the Act extends, until March 31, 2023, the remote meeting provisions of the Governor’s March 12, 2020, Executive Order Suspending Certain Provisions of the Open Meeting Law including the requirement that public bodies conduct its meetings in a public place that is open and physically accessible to the public, the Public Facilities Commission (PFC) will be conducting its meetings virtually. This enables the PFC to conduct its usual business while adhering to public health recommendations and ensuring public access to its deliberations through adequate, alternative means.

These practices in effect since May 11, 2020, will remain in effect until further notice. Updates to these practices will be posted as appropriate.

Amendment to the vote of October 24, 2018: Regarding a contract with Dore & Whittier Architects, Inc. to provide architectural design and construction administration services associated with the demolition and new construction of the Boston Fire Department EngineNo. 42 project.Increase of $145,650 and Time ExtensionThat the vote of this Commission at its meeting of July 20, 2016 and amended on October 24, 2018 regarding a contract with Dore & Whittier Architects, Inc. to provide architectural design and construction administration services associated with the demolition and new construction of the Boston Fire Department Engine No. 42 project;be, and hereby is, amended as follows:By deleting the following words and figures: “April 4, 2021, at a cost not to exceed $1,641,893, including $445,643 for additional services, which is a fixed fee of 8.25% based on an estimated construction cost of $14,500,000” and substituting in place thereof the following words and figures: “April 15, 2023, at a cost not to exceed $1,787,543, including $145,650 for additional services.”The Director is also authorized to execute such amendment, in the name and on behalf of the Commission, upon receipt of said written authority from the Mayor.
