City Council meeting

  1. COMMUNICATIONS FROM HIS HONOR, THE MAYOR:


    0512    Message and order approving a supplemental appropriation of Twenty-One Thousand Two Hundred Dollars ($21,200.00) to provide funding to cover the FY17 cost items contained within the collective bargaining agreement between the City of Boston and the Boston Police School Traffic Supervisors Association.
    The terms of the contract are September 1, 2016 through August 31, 2019. The major provisions of the contract include base wage increase of 1% effective the first pay period of December 2016 and December 2017, 0.5% effective the first pay period of June 2018, and 1.5% effective the first pay period in September 2018. The agreement also includes an increase in the uniform allowance.

    0513    Notice was received from the Mayor of his absence from the City from 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 29th, until 12:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 30th 2017.

    0514    Communication was received from the Department of Neighborhood Development of the Student Housing Trends 2016 - 2017 Academic Year report on student housing from data submitted to the City Clerk by the schools pursuant to subsection 10-10.4 of Chapter 10-10 of the City of Boston Code.

    0515    Communication was received from Timothy J. Smyth, Esquire Executive Officer of the Boston Retirement Board that the Board voted to appoint Mr. Timothy J. Smyth as the "Election Officer" for the State Boston Retirement System's election of the Third and Fourth Member of the Retirement Board.

    0516    Communication was received from Sheila Dillon, Director and Chief of Housing, of the Department of Neighborhood Development's 2016 Annual Report on Boston's affordable housing.

    0389    Message and order approving an acceptance of the provisions of G.L. c.40, Sections 22A, 22B and 22C, as amended by Chapter 218 of the Acts of 2016 -the Municipal Modernization Act. This local option allows municipalities to continue to account for parking receipts separately and to keep receipts reserved for appropriation.

    0202    Order for a hearing to review the Overcoming the Odds program and services provided to citizens returning from incarceration.

    0464    Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to submit to the Massachusetts School Building Authority the Statement of Interest dated March 23, 2017 for The Carter School located at 396 Northampton Street, Boston, MA.

    0394    Order for a hearing regarding Safe and Effective Sharps Disposal Practices.

    0136    Order for a hearing to address violence in the City of Boston.
