Update March 13, 2020: In accordance with Governor Baker’s March 12, 2020 Executive Order modifying certain requirements of Open Meeting Law to enable public bodies to carry out responsibilities while adhering to public health recommendations regarding social distancing, the City Council will be limiting in-person attendance for this hearing to Councilors, staff, and invited panelists only. 

The public may attend this hearing remotely by watching live on Comcast 8/RCN 82/Verizon 1964 or streaming at https://www.boston.gov/city-council-tv.  The hearing video recording will be available after the hearing as well from the City Council’s video library  or Youtube channel. Members of the public wishing to provide testimony are encouraged to send it via email, mail or fax to the Committee, using the contact information in the public notice.

    Order for a hearing to evaluate the City of Boston’s preparedness for the coronavirus strain COVID-19. The discussion will focus on the local government and medical response.

    This matter was sponsored by Councilors Matt O’Malley, Michelle Wu, and Ed Flynn and was referred to the Committee on March 4, 2020.

    NOTICE:  The Boston City Council may have a quorum in attendance due to standing committees of the City Council consisting of both voting and non-voting members.  However, members attending this duly posted meeting are participating and deliberating only in conjunction with the business of the standing committee.
