Hot Work Safety Certificate Program Now Available

The new “Hot Work Safety Certification” program is available on the National Fire Protection Association website.

Visit their website to register for a class.

This certification will be required effective January 1, 2017, for all people who are conducting hot work in the City of Boston. It will also be required in order to obtain a Hot Work Permit within the City of Boston.

Beginning January 1, 2025, Boston Fire Department will enforce a three-year renewal requirement on the Hot Work Safety Training Program.  This means when presenting the NFPA Hot Work Training Certificate, the date of issue must be within three years.  To learn more about this requirement and changes to the NFPA Training Program, please consult this FAQ.
