Nayeli Rodriguez
Nayeli Rodriguez serves as the Deputy Director of the City of Boston’s Office of Climate Resilience.
The Office of Climate Resilience leads the City’s all-of-government response to the challenges of coastal flooding, stormwater flooding and heat. Located within the Environment, Energy, and Open Space Cabinet, this Office leads the implementation of resilience strategies identified in the Climate Ready Boston plans, coordinating efforts across City departments, state and federal agencies, and community partners to ensure equitable and effective action.
With a background in urban planning, design, and technology, Nayeli brings over a decade of experience working at the intersection of infrastructure, public space, and community resilience. Prior to her current role, she was a member of the Mayor's Office of New Urban Mechanics, the City of Boston’s civic R&D lab, where she managed a diverse portfolio of projects including resilient outdoor spaces for the Boston Public Library, Clean Air in Boston initiatives, emergency operational planning for extreme weather, and collaboration with the Streets cabinet on the implementation of green infrastructure.
Prior to joining the City, Nayeli worked as an Urban Planner at Sasaki, and managed creative digital projects for Google. A resident of the South End, she earned her Master’s in City Planning, City Design, and Development from MIT and a B.A. in Visual and Environmental Studies from Harvard College.
