City renews property tax exemption for military members
The City Council voted to pass an order for the City to adopt a property tax exemption for members of the National Guard and reservists who are serving in foreign countries.
The City of Boston initially adopted the exemption in Fiscal Year 2012, and by law, this local option must be extended by a vote of the City Council every two years. The City of Boston will offer a property tax exemption of up to 100 percent for active members of the National Guard and reservists.
