Traffic advisory for Chinatown Main Street Festival, concerts at Fenway

Special events taking place on Friday, and Saturday, July 5 and 6, will require street closings and parking restrictions in Boston.

People coming into Boston to attend are encouraged not to drive their personal vehicles.  Information on Bluebikes, the regional bike share service, may be found on then Bluebikes website and information on the MBTA may be found on the MBTA's website. For a faster return trip, the MBTA advises riders to purchase a round-trip rather than a one-way ticket. Walking is also a great way to move around Boston.

Friday and Saturday, July 5 and 6

Concerts scheduled at Fenway Park will require the following street closures.

  • Lansdowne Street, from the conclusion of the Saturday night concert to 4 AM on Sunday, July 7.
  • Van Ness Street, from Ipswich Street to Jersey Street, 24 hours, Friday and Saturday
  • Jersey Street, from Van Ness Street to Brookline Avenue, 24 hours, Friday and Saturday.

Drivers are reminded that the fine for parking illegally in on-street Fenway/Kenmore Resident Parking Only spaces on event days at Fenway carries an increased fee of $100.

In addition, parking restrictions will be in effect as follows.

“Tow Zone No Stopping Boston Police Special Event Friday & Saturday 2:00 PM to 11:59 PM”

  • Brookline Avenue, both sides, Overland Street to Lansdowne Street
  • Overland Street, South side, Brookline Avenue to David Ortiz Drive
  • Boylston Street, South side, opposite Ipswich Street to Brookline Avenue
  • Lansdowne Street, Both sides, Brookline Avenue to Ipswich Street
  • Ipswich Street, Fenway Park side, Lansdowne Street to Boylston Street
  • Van Ness Street, Both sides, Ipswich Street to Kilmarnock Street
  • Jersey Street, Both sides, Van Ness Street to Brookline Avenue
  • Richard B. Ross Way, Both sides, Van Ness Street to Boylston Street

The Chinatown Main Street Festival will require the closing of the following streets from 7 AM to 6 PM.

  • Beach Street, J.F. Fitzgerald Expressway Surface Road to Tyler Street
  • Hudson Street, Kneeland Street to Beach Street
  • Oxford Street, Beach Street to Essex Street

In addition, parking restrictions will be in effect as follows.

“Tow Zone No Stopping Boston Police Special Event Saturday”

  • Beach Street, Both sides, J. F. Fitzgerald Expressway Surface Road to Harrison Avenue
  • Hudson Street, Both sides, Kneeland Street to Beach Street

  • Oxford Street, Both sides, Beach Street to Essex Street
Saturday and Sunday, July 6 and 7

Work taking place in the Financial District will require street closures and parking restrictions.

On Saturday, July 6, from 7 AM to 7 PM, the following streets will be closed to traffic and “Tow Zone No Stopping” parking restrictions will be in effect.

  • Congress Street, Milk Street to High Street
  • Franklin Street, Pearl Street to Federal Street

On Sunday, July 7, from 6 AM to 7 PM, the following streets will be closed to traffic and “Tow Zone No Stopping” parking restrictions will be in effect.

  • Water Street, Congress Street to Broad Street
  • Kilby Street, Milk Street to State Street
