Shauna Helton
Shauna Helton is a Development professional having worked in the nonprofit sector for three decades as a Special Events Manager, Grant Writer, and Database Administrator for animal welfare, women’s rights, and human services. She is currently employed with Victory Programs serving individuals and families in Boston facing homelessness, substance-use disorders, and HIV/AIDS.
In addition to the Boston Cultural Council, Shauna currently serves as Co-Chair for the Bloomfield Park Neighborhood Association in Dorchester and is an active member of the Stewardship Committee for the Fannie Lou Hamer Community Garden where she is working to expand the garden site to include a stage and seating area for future arts programming.
In her spare time, Shauna loves hiking with her wife and two dogs, playing bass and acoustic guitar, writing poetry, caring for her beloved feral cat colony, gardening, and participating in marches and rallies for racial justice, climate change, and other matters of great importance to her.
