He is a Board Certified Human Service Provider, Certified Addiction Specialist, Certified Forensic Counselor, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Rehabilitation Counselor, Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

He refers to himself as an African Trin-Bagonian, because he is originally from Trinidad and Tobago. He presently lives in Dorchester.
