Tree Removal Hearing: Roxbury
In accordance with Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 87, the Boston Parks and Recreation Department will hold a virtual public hearing on a request to remove nine (9) public shade trees in Roxbury.

The request is for the removal of One (1) Elm tree measuring 6.5 inches DBH (diameter at breast height), one (1) Pin Oak measuring 7 inches DBH, one (1) Willow Oak measuring 5 inches DBH, two (2) Pagoda trees measuring 7 inches DBH and 8 inches DBH, one (1) Swamp White Oak measuring 2 inches DBH, one (1) Shingle Oak measuring 2 inches DBH and two (2) Honeylocusts measuring 6 inches DBH and 5 inches DBH in order for Northeastern University to construct a new student housing building at 840 Columbus Ave, Roxbury.
The hearing will be held by the City of Boston’s Tree Warden (or designee) remotely on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. Via ZOOM.

Public comments, questions or objections to the removal of these trees must be submitted in writing prior to or during the hearing to the Tree Warden, Boston Parks and Recreation Department, 1010 Massachusetts Avenue, 3rd floor, Roxbury, MA 02118 or by emailing trees@boston.gov with “Columbus Ave Tree Hearing” in the subject line.
