Getting Your Youth ID

Learn how to acquire your YEO Youth ID or Massachusetts issued Identification card

When starting a new job, many employers require you to present a valid photo ID before you can begin. Don’t have an ID? No problem! YEO can issue you a youth ID to help you start your employment journey right away.

Get your YEO Issued ID!

Youth and young adults ages 14–24 can obtain their own ID by visiting our office at 1483 Tremont Street in Mission Hill. YEO’s office is open Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.  At our office, our team will snap your photo and issue your ID on the spot! The only information you will need to provide is your name, date of birth, address, and planned worksite -- no documents are needed!

Get a Massachusetts Identification Card!

Alternatively, youth and young adults can apply for a Massachusetts Identification (Mass ID) card. The Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) can issue an ID to any youth who is over the age of 14, a nondriver, and a resident of Massachusetts.

To apply for a Mass ID, you must first decide whether you want a REAL ID or a Standard ID. You can learn more about the differences between the two types of ID cards here. Once you’ve decided, you can get your ID by bringing the required identification documents and a completed application to an RMV Service Center. You can start the application online.
