Jocelyn Solis
Jocelyn Solis is an interdisciplinary artist, educator, and social advocate from Tegucigalpa, Honduras. She spent part of her upbringing between Honduras and the state of Virginia, before settling in the Greater Boston area in 2008. As a first-generation immigrant, Jocelyn's journey reflects her dedication to bridging cultures, communities, and narratives.
Her advocacy work has focused on supporting immigrant communities through roles in community organizing, program management, and partnership building in the non-profit sector. She spent seven years as a public education servant with Boston Public Schools (BPS) and other art immigrant youth development programs. She volunteered in Honduras with TECHO, Rotaract, and La Alianza Hondureña in Chelsea, organizing with the Honduran diaspora.
Jocelyn holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Jewelry & Metalsmithing from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. She has her independent jewelry practice, "JAS JOYERIA." Additionally, she leads Jewelry and Metalsmithing workshops in both Boston and Honduras, empowering female jewelry entrepreneurs in Honduras to foster economic independence and creative growth. She is fluent in Spanish and English and is learning Brazilian Portuguese, further expanding her ability to connect with diverse communities.
