Birgit Wurster
As the Senior Public Art Project Manager in the Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture in Boston, Birgit Wurster (she/her/hers) is responsible for developing open calls to artists and managing the city’s public art commissions.
She has previously held positions in planning, wayfinding design, and architectural design at the MBTA and Harvard University. Her educational and professional work has been centered around design and art as a means to advance equity and uplift the everyday experiences of residents and visitors in Boston.
Birgit received a Master’s Degree in Architecture from Harvard University as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
