Jolie Nguyen (any pronouns) is a second-year councilor from Boston Latin School. They joined MYC to address Boston’s current issues with educational disparities and how these relate to economic inequities. Jolie has observed how different the education system is in the city compared to the exam schools as a result of the lack of funding as well as financial struggles that impact students’ educational opportunities. They hope to develop and advocate for solutions to address these ongoing issues and promote fair educational opportunities for all students.

In their free time, Jolie enjoys trying new art mediums, such as origami, painting, or bracelet making. Additionally, they like to go site-seeing around the city and try new foods along the way, allowing them to get a taste of local cuisines.
