Franklin Park: Tennis Expansion
As part of the Franklin Park Action Plan, the Shattuck Picnic Grove / Ellicottdale is identified as a magnet destination supporting a diverse range of active and passive recreational activities. This is a heavily utilized area for family reunions, Juneteenth celebrations, tennis lessons, picnicking and general park use.
The Action Plan recommends investments in this space to enhance flexible use, better support and welcome small-scale gatherings and family uses, and expand the tennis program. The design scope shall include the parking edge, tennis expansion from 2 courts to 4 or 5 courts and gathering spaces.
