Mayor’s Youth Sports Grant

This grant aims to increase access to sports programming for BPS students.

Mayor Michelle Wu's Community Engagement Cabinet is excited to announce the 2024 Youth Sports Grant. This funding opportunity is open to 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations or fiscal sponsors of local providers who serve Boston Public School (BPS) students to participate in athletic programming. This effort is to support organizations who are facing financial barriers to purchase equipment and/or serve BPS students.

Grants will be awarded up to $5,000 per organization to purchase equipment for practice and games. The funding can also be used to provide fee waivers for athletic programming applications for BPS students. The funding for the Mayor’s Youth Sports Grant came from state funding earmarked for BPS students.
