Bivens, a resident of Roxbury, is an independent consultant. Bivens will research the unit on the Boston Public Schools and Equal Quality Education. In her capacity as director of the Boston Busing/Desegregation Project, she authored the report Unfinished Business: 7 Questions 7 Lessons: Linking Boston’s “Busing/Desegregation Crisis” to Struggles for Equity, Access and Excellence for All in Boston Today. Bivens is a graduate of Wellesley College and completed the Luce Community Fellows Program at Harvard Divinity School.
