Ground Lease and Redevelopment of 17 parcels in the South End Urban Renewal Area

The Boston Redevelopment Authority (“BRA”), doing business as the Boston Planning & Development Agency (“BPDA”) is soliciting responses to a Request for Proposals (“RFP”) for the ground lease and redevelopment of 17 parcels, identified below, representing approximately 191,528 square feet of vacant land in the South End Urban Renewal Area, Project No. Mass. R-56, known as Boston Water and Sewer Commission Parking Lots in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston (the “Property”).

Parcels: 15 East Lenox Street - PID 0801843000, 17 East Lenox Street – PID 0801844000, 19 East Lenox Street – PID 0801845000, 21 East Lenox Street – PID 0801846000, 23 East Lenox Street – PID 0801848000, 25 East Lenox Street – PID 0801848000, 27 East Lenox Street – PID 0801849000, 29 East Lenox Street – PID 081850000, 31 East Lenox Street – PID 0801851000, 33 East Lenox Street – PID 0801852000, 35 East Lenox Street – PID 081853000, 55 Lenox Street – PID 0801834000, 0 Newcomb Street – PID 0801854010, 923-925 Harrison Avenue – PID 0801903010, 0 Thorndike Street – PID 0801878010, 1 Thorndike Street – PID 0801973000, Millburn Street.

The BPDA seeks to convey the Property for the construction of mixed-use buildings with residential and commercial space. The Property is being offered as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. If concerned about the Property condition, legal or physical access and the maintenance thereof, property lines or boundaries or any other matter affecting the Property, prospective developers should investigate and conduct whatever due diligence and inspection deemed necessary.  

The RFP package will be available starting Wednesday, December 20th, 2023 on the BPDA Procurement Portal at www.bostonplans.org/work-with-us/procurement; if unable to access the RFP package through the BPDA Procurement Portal, contact Jonathan Short, Real Estate Development Officer, at (617) 918-6234 or via email to: jonathan.short@boston.gov in order to make alternative arrangements. 

Completed proposal applications must be submitted as instructed and returned directly to the BPDA, 12 Channel Street, Suite 901, Boston, MA, 02210 by 12:00 PM on February 28, 2024.
