Field Improvements to Murphy Playground

Park established 1912

Construction will begin soon!

The fields at Murphy Playground are getting an update. Some of the fencing has become overgrown with vegetation. The walkways and seating are currently difficult to navigate in a wheelchair. The playing fields have depressions that can be hazardous for players and weeds popping up throughout.

The Field Improvements at Murphy Playground include renovations to improve the condition of the grass fields, provide new sports lighting (with less light leakage), new pathways, new seating, renovated concrete bleachers, newly secured perimeter walls, and repairs to the existing chain link fence and netting. Special care will be given to preserve and improve the health of the existing trees. The Improvements aim to make the overall park more ADA Accessible.
