Robert A. Whitney is an insurance and reinsurance coverage attorney at Sulloway & Hollis in its Boston office.  Rob was formerly the Deputy Commissioner and General Counsel of the Massachusetts Division of Insurance.  He is the Co-Chair of the Boston Groundwater Trust, and the President of the Boston Lawyer Chapter of the American Constitution Society.  As a member of the Beacon Hill Civic Association’s Board of Directors for 18 years, where he also served as President and Board Chair, Rob worked to preserve buildings and architectural fixtures within the Beacon Hill Historic District, and to increase the availability of affordable housing in the neighborhood.  Rob was also the founder and is the current Co-Chair of the Friends of the Phillips Street Play Area on Beacon Hill. 

A graduate of Brown University and Boston University School of Law, Rob lives on Beacon Hill with his family.
