Karina Oliver-Milchman
Karina Oliver-Milchman is the Director of Policy Development and Research for the Mayor's Office of Housing (MOH). Her division is responsible for developing data-driven housing policies to meet Boston's housing needs. Karina works with her staff to track and report on housing and demographic trends, evaluate policy and program performance, and research and design new policies to guide public and private investment in our communities.
Before joining MOH, she worked at the Metropolitan Area Planning Council, the regional planning agency for Greater Boston. As Chief of Housing and Neighborhood Development, she directed housing technical assistance to 101 cities and towns, including planning, zoning, community engagement, and communications. She also helped shape the agency's legislative priorities at both the state and federal levels.
Karina has a Master's in City Planning and Certificate in Urban Design from MIT. Prior to planning, Karina worked at several New York publications as a writer and editor, reporting on topics ranging from real estate to arts and culture. She is passionate about equitable housing access, and believes affordable homes are the foundation for both individuals and communities to thrive.
