Bike Rack Installation & Maintenance

One of the most common barriers to biking for transportation is having a safe and convenient place to park. For that reason, we aim to provide secure bike parking throughout the City–at everyday destinations like shops, grocery stores, pharmacies, post offices, libraries, and community centers. We’re looking to bring on a contractor to help us install or repair roughly 160 bike racks on City sidewalks in the upcoming state fiscal year. The City may choose to renew the contract for two additional years.

This contract is subject to prevailing wage rates and other provisions of Chapter 30, Section 39M of the Massachusetts General Laws. Bids must be accompanied by a bid bond in the amount of five (5%) percent of the total bid amount.

The IFB will be available on the City of Boston website at boston.gov/supplierportal (Bid Event EV00012354) beginning at 10:00 am, EST, on Monday, May 8, 2023.

Completed documents must be signed and submitted electronically no later than 12:00 pm on Friday, June 2, 2023.
