Sexual Health

Sexual health is a critical part of health and wellbeing. Sexual health is more than just knowing about sexually transmitted infections (STIs). It also encompasses healthy relationships and attitudes towards sexuality.

What we do

The Boston Public Health Commission engages city youth to promote healthy relationships and reduce sexuality-based discrimination. In our program, teens train their peers on preventing dating violence and healthy ways to end relationships.

Our Infectious Disease bureau works with local youth and community-based organizations. Together they raise awareness about preventing and treating STIs. STIs are infections that spread from one person to another through sexual contact.
