Franklin Park Pathway Improvements

Multi-phased $5 million investment in the revitalization and rehabilitation of pathways and entrances in this highly used Emerald Necklace park.
Franklin Park pathway rehabilitation will improve universal access within the park to expand recreation opportunities and enjoyment for park users of all abilities. Ongoing improvements will continue through phased implementation.
Phase IV
Pathways and Entrances at Walnut/Seaver Street to Playstead

- Consultant: Stantec Planning & Landscape Architecture, Inc.

Renovations to select locations including the Williams Street entrance to Ellicot Arch, between Seaver Street and Playstead Road and Seaver Street and Walnut Avenue.
Phase V
Pathways and Entrances in the Scarboro Pond Area, Shattuck Hospital and Golf Course Parking Lot

- Construction budget: $3,000,000
- Consultant: Kyle Zick Landscape Architecture, Inc.
- Contractor: To be determined
The proposed project includes renovations to selected pathways including the drive and path between the Shattuck Hospital, Franklin Park Yard and the golf course parking lot. Pathways surrounding Scarboro Pond will also be included in the renovation. The design process will continue through the Spring of 2017, including an additional community meeting. Construction is anticipated to begin Summer 2017.
