Landmarks Commission welcomes new staff architect Yolanda Romero
Please join us in welcoming Yolanda Romero as the new Staff Architect for the Boston Landmarks Commission!
In this role, Yolanda conducts review of Article 85 Demolition Delay applications, and manages Design Review applications for projects at designated and pending Boston Landmarks. She works on assisting applicants to achieve solutions that comply with regulatory guidelines, and serves as professional staff to the BLC Design Review Committee, advising on the quality and appropriateness of submissions for design review.
Prior to joining the Boston Landmarks Commission, Yolanda worked in the private sector for very prestigious architectural firms and has expertise in architectural design, urban design, and planning. Her work experience includes residential, commercial, transportation projects, transit oriented mixed use residential/commercial projects, institutional master planning, and urban design and planning projects.
Yolanda holds a Master's degree in Architecture from the Boston Architectural College, and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Central University of Venezuela.
In her spare time, she enjoys bicycling, hiking, painting, volunteering, and traveling.
