City Council supports Four Seasons workers and 'Right to Recall'
The hospitality industry is the third largest industry in the City of Boston, employing tens of thousands of Boston residents. On May 12, 2020, the Four Seasons Hotel in Boston permanently eliminated 194 employees offering them little severance for decades of service.
This week, the City Council adopted a resolution in support of Four Seasons workers in their demand for a better severance and support of a statewide “Right to Recall” for hotel workers. A state law allowing cities and towns to adopt a “Right to Recall” ordinance would allow for workers to be recalled to their job within a two year period of being laid off.
