Boston's arts and culture sector COVID-19 meetings

We established an Arts and Culture Response Forum at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic to address the needs of individual artists and organizations.

In 2020, the Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture connected regularly (via video conference call) with local artists and arts organizations to share resources, and hear their perspective and experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic. The agenda involved a briefing on the coronavirus from the City and what resources were available at the time, followed by time for them to voice questions, concerns, and suggestions. The calls were open to individual artists, representatives from arts organizations, and leaders of cultural institutions.

Our Artist Resource Manager Julia Ryan also held several calls specifically for Boston artists, where she discussed the Boston Artist Relief Fund and other relief funds and resources available to artists, as well as highlighted how some artists are adapting to barriers caused by COVID-19.

The recordings of past calls can be found below.
