Traffic Advisory for Sunday, February 17, 2019

Chinese New Year Celebration

The Chinese New Year Celebration will be held on Sunday, February 17, in Chinatown.  Traffic and parking will be impacted.  People coming into the City for the event are encouraged not to drive their personal vehicles.  Information on Bluebikes, the regional bike share service, may be found at http://bluebikes.com and information on the MBTA may be found at www.mbta.com.  Walking is also a great way to move around Boston.

The following streets will be closed to traffic from 7 AM to 5 PM on Sunday

  • Beach Street, from Surface Road to Washington Street
  • Harrison Avenue, from Essex Street to Kneeland Street
  • Hudson Street, from Kneeland Street to Beach Street
  • Tyler Street, from Kneeland Street to Beach Street
  • Oxford Street, from Beach Street to Essex Street.

In addition, “Tow Zone No Stopping Boston Police Special Event Sunday” parking restrictions will be in effect as follows.

  • Beach Street, both sides, from J.F. Fitzgerald Expressway Surface Road to Washington Street
  • Harrison Avenue, both sides, from Essex Street to Kneeland Street
  • Hudson Street, both sides, from Kneeland Street to Beach Street
  • Oxford Street, both sides, from Beacon Street to Essex Street
  • Tyler Street, both sides, from Kneeland Street to Beacon Street
