Traffic Advisory for September 29 and 30

Allston Brighton Parade, Beantown Jazz Festival, Other Events

Special events taking place on Saturday, September 29, and Sunday, September 30, will impact traffic and parking in Boston.  People coming into the City to enjoy the festivities are encouraged not to drive their personal vehicles.  Information on Bluebikes, the regional bike-share service, may be found at http://bluebikes.com and information on the MBTA may be found at www.mbta.com.  Walking is also a great way to move around Boston.

Saturday, September 29

The Beantown Jazz Festival will take place in Roxbury.

The following streets will be closed to traffic from 6 AM to 7 PM.

  • Columbus Avenue , between Massachusetts Avenue and Burke Street
  • Northampton Street, between Tremont Street and Columbus Avenue
  • Camden Street, between Tremont Street and Columbus Avenue
  • Douglass Park, between Tremont Street and Columbus Avenue
  • Davenport Street, between Tremont Street and Columbus Avenue
  • Benton Street, between Tremont Street and Columbus Avenue.

“Tow Zone No Stopping Friday and Saturday” parking restrictions will be in effect as follows.

  • Columbus Avenue, north side, Massachusetts Avenue to Northampton Street
  • Columbus Avenue, south side, Burke Street to Benton Street

“Tow Zone No Stopping Saturday” parking restrictions will be in effect as follows.

  • Benton Street, both sides, Columbus Avenue to Tremont Street
  • Burke Street, both sides, Tremont Street to Columbus Avenue
  • Camden Street, both sides, Columbus Avenue to the Dead End
  • Camden Street, both sides, Tremont Street to Columbus Avenue
  • Columbus Avenue, both sides, Northampton Street to Benton Street
  • Columbus Avenue, north side, opposite Benton Street to opposite Burke Street
  • Columbus Avenue, south side, Northampton Street to Massachusetts Avenue

The Experience Chinatown Arts Festival will take place in Chinatown.

The following streets will be closed to traffic from 8 AM to 5 PM.

  • Hudson Street, Kneeland Street to Harvard Street (with restricted access to Harvard Street)

Sunday, September 30

The Allston Brighton Parade, the Brian J. Honan 5K Run/Walk and the Allston Village Street Fair will take place in Allston and Brighton.

  • The Allston Brighton Parade formation will take place on Brighton Avenue between Malvern Street and Harvard Avenue.  The parade will begin at 1 PM and will proceed along Brighton Avenue, to Union Square, to Cambridge Street, to Brighton Center, on Washington Street, to Oak Square.
  • The Brian J. Honan 5K Run/Walk will begin at 12 PM at #181 Brighton Avenue, turn left onto Cambridge Street, right onto Washington Street, turn around at Washington and Fairbanks Street, return to #181 Brighton Avenue.

The following streets will be closed to traffic from 12 Noon to 4 PM for the Allston Brighton Parade and the Brian J. Honan 5K Run/Walk.

  • Brighton Avenue, Brighton, between Linden Street and #181 Brighton Avenue

The following streets will be closed to traffic from 6 AM to 8 PM for the Allston Village Street Fair.

  • Harvard Avenue, Allston, between Cambridge Street and Brighton Avenue
  • Farrington Street, Allston, between Harvard Avenue and Highgate Street
  • Gardner Street, between Harvard Avenue and Linden Street
  • Harvard Terrace, from Harvard Avenue to its end

“Tow Zone No Stopping Boston Police Special Event” parking restrictions will be in effect as follows for these events.

  • Brighton Avenue, outbound roadway, Malvern Street to Harvard Avenue
  • Faneuil Street, park side, opposite Adair Street to opposite #365 Faneuil Street
  • Cambridge Street, both sides, Brighton Avenue to Washington Street
  • Washington Street, both sides, Cambridge Street to Oak Street
  • Harvard Avenue, both sides, Cambridge Street to Brighton Avenue
  • Harvard Terrace, both sides, Harvard Avenue to the Dead End
  • Farrington Street, both sides, Harvard Avenue to Highgate Street
  • Gardner Street, both sides, Harvard Avenue to Linden Street
