Traffic Advisory for September 20 to September 25, 2018

The Jimmy Fund Walk, Phantom Gourmet Food Festival and other events will impact traffic and parking

Special events taking place from Thursday, September 20, through Tuesday, September 25, will impact traffic and parking in Boston.  People coming into the City to enjoy the festivities are encouraged not to drive their personal vehicles.  Information on Bluebikes, the regional bike-share service, may be found at http://bluebikes.com and information on the MBTA may be found at www.mbta.com.  Walking is also a great way to move around Boston.

 

Thursday, September 20

 

The Taste of Fenway will require the following streets to be closed to traffic from 1 PM through 8 PM.

  • Van Ness Street, Richard Ross Way to Kilmarnock Street

“Tow Zone No Stopping, Boston Police Special Event, Thursday 1 PM to 8 PM” parking restrictions will be in effect as follows.

  • Van Ness Street, both sides, Richard B. Ross Way to Kilmarnock Street

 

Friday, September 21, through Sunday, September 23

 

The San Gennaro Feast will require the following streets to be closed to traffic 24 hours on these three days.

  • Hanover Street, Charles Street to Commercial Street
  • Battery Street, Hanover Street to Commercial Street
  • Salutation Street, Hanover Street to Commercial Street

“Tow Zone No Stopping Boston Police Special Event Friday through Sunday” parking restrictions will be in effect as follows.

  • Hanover Street, both sides, Charter Street to Commercial Street
  • Battery Street, both sides, Hanover Street to Commercial Street
  • Commercial Street, even side, Henchman Street to Battery Street

 

Saturday, September 22

 

The Chinatown Main Street Lantern Festival will require the following streets to be closed to traffic from 7 AM to 6 PM.

  • Hudson Street, Kneeland Street to Beach Street
  • Beach Street, Surface Road to Tyler Street
  • Oxford street, Beach Street to Essex Street
  • “Salutation Street, Hanover Street to Commercial Street

“Tow Zone No Stopping Boston Police Special Event Saturday” parking restrictions will be in effect as follows.

  • Beach Street, both sides, J.F.Fitzgerald Expressway Surface Road to Tyler Street
  • Hudson Street, both sides, Kneeland Street to Beach Street
  • Oxford Street, both sides, Beach Street to Essex Street

 

The Phantom Gourmet Food Festival will require the following streets to be closed to traffic from 2 AM to 7 PM.

  • Lansdowne Street, Brookline Avenue to Ipswich Street
  • Ipswich Street, Charlesgate East to Van Ness Street

“Tow Zone No Stopping Boston Police Special Event Saturday” parking restrictions will be in effect as follows.

  • Lansdowne Street, both sides, Brookline Avenue to Ipswich Street
  • Ipswich Street, both sides, 1249 Boylston Street to Charlesgate East; and, north side, Charlesgate East to Boylston Street at Hemenway Street

 

Sonia’s 5K Run-Building on a Dream will begin at 9 AM, over the following route.  Minor traffic delays are expected.

  • Saint George Church at #55 Emmonsdale Road, right onto Linnet Street, left onto Bellevue Street, right onto March Avenue, right onto Park Street, left onto Clement Avenue, continuing  onto the inner roadway of West Roxbury Parkway, continuing onto Bellevue Hill Road, right onto Bellevue Street, right onto Robin Street, left onto Park Street, right onto Saville Street, left onto Safford Street, left onto Anawan Street, left onto Park Street, right onto Oriole Street, left onto Wren Street, right onto Martin Street, right onto Emmonsdale Road, ending at Saint George Church.

 

Sunday, September 23

 

The Jimmy Fund Walk will require the following streets to be closed to traffic from 5 AM to 8 PM.

  • Dartmouth Street, Stuart Street to Boylston Street.

In addition, traffic delays should be expected along the following two walk routes.

  • The Jimmy Fund Walk will begin at 9 AM: Enters the City of Boston at Boston College, Commonwealth Avenue, right onto Chestnut Hill Avenue, left onto Beacon Street, through the Town of Brookline, continuing on Beacon Street, to Kenmore Square, right onto Commonwealth Avenue, right onto Hereford Street, left onto Boylston Street, ending at Copley Square.
  • The Patients Walk will begin at 1:30 PM: Longwood Avenue, across Brookline Avenue and the Riverway, right to Kent Street, Beacon Street, through Kenmore Square, to Commonwealth Avenue, right to Hereford Street, left to Boylston Street, finishing at the Copley Square Park.

“Tow Zone No Stopping Boston Police Special Event Sunday” parking restrictions will be in effect as follows.

  • Beacon Street, inbound, Munson Street to opposite #72 Beacon Street
  • Boylston Street, both sides, Dartmouth Street to Clarendon Street
  • Blagden Street, both sides, Dartmouth Street to Exeter Street
  • Brookline Avenue, even side, Deaconess Road toward Francis Street, including the loading zone and the first four metered parking spaces
  • Clarendon Street, both sides, Boylston Street to Saint James Avenue
  • Trinity Place, both sides, Stuart Street to Saint James Avenue
  • Saint James Avenue, both sides, Berkeley Street to Dartmouth Street
  • Cleveland Circle, Chestnut Hill Avenue, Cassidy Playground parking area meters

 

The Country 102.5 Street Party will require the following streets to be closed to traffic from 6 AM to 11 PM.

  • Lansdown Street, Brookline Avenue to Ipswich Street

“Tow Zone No Stopping Boston Police Special Event Sunday” parking restrictions will be in effect as follows.

  • Lansdowne Street, both sides, Brookline Avenue to Ipswich Street

 

The Greater Boston Walk to End Alzheimer’s will begin at 8:30 AM over the following route.  Minor traffic delays are expected.

  • North Point Park in Cambridge to Paul Revere Park, along the Harbor Walk to Constitution Road, to the Charlestown Navy Yard, to Pier 4, back to Paul Revere Park.

 

The Fall Hill Fest will require the following streets to be closed to traffic from 10 AM to 5 PM.

  • Mount Vernon Street, Charles Street to Brimmer Street

"Tow Zone No Stopping Sunday 9 AM to 5 PM" parking restrictions will be in effect as follows.

  • Charles Street, even side, Mt. Vernon Street to #54 Charles Street
  • Mount Vernon Street, both sides, Charles Street to Brimmer Street
  • River Street, both sides, Mount Vernon Street to Lime Street

The Dorchester Bike & Brew will require the following streets to be closed to traffic from 4 PM to 10 PM.

  • Talbot Avenue, Dorchester Avenue to Welles Avenue

 

Councilor Lydia Edwards Fall Block Party will require the following streets to be closed to traffic from 9 AM to 6 PM.

  • London Street, 190 London street to Porter Street

 

Tuesday, September 25

 

A 225 State Street Tenant Event will require the following streets to be closed to traffic from 10 AM to 2 PM.

  • Central Street, Old Atlantic Avenue to Atlantic Avenue
