Take a 'Winter Walk' in Boston this February
Councilor Essaibi-George recognized February 9, 2020, as Winter Walk Day in the City of Boston, as the Winter Walk organization is gearing up to hold their fourth annual event.
The Winter Walk is a campaign raising awareness and funds to help end homelessness in Boston. It centers on a two-mile walk around the streets of the City in February, the coldest month of the year.
“I just want to acknowledge the work of the Winter Walk organization and all the community members that join them and join us for the day. I hope that all of you will consider attending. It’s a quick, brisk early Sunday morning walk and it’s a great way to start the day,” said Councilor Essaibi-George.
Following the walk, participants gather on Copley Plaza for breakfast and to hear stories from our homeless community, as well as some of the organizations and people in our region working to prevent, support and end homelessness.
This year's Winter Walk takes place on Sunday, February 9, at 8:30 a.m. To register for the walk and view the route visit the Winter Walk Boston website.
