Moakley Park Winter Warmer continues engagement with community
Boston's Parks and Recreation, Stoss Landscape Urbanism, Boston Harbor Now, and South Boston Neighborhood House teamed up to host the Moakley Park Winter Warmer to continue engaging the community and hear their thoughts and perspectives around the Moakley Park Vision Plan and the future of the park.
The event was held at Moakley Park to encourage community participation and show how the park can be actively programmed during the winter months.
Visitors were asked to provide their feedback on the park as it is today along with input on the Moakley Park Vision Plan. Conversations were had around hot chocolate and s'mores along with music and family-friendly activities like making winter bird feeders and dog-friendly treats. Seating around barbeques encouraged visitors to share their stories of the park and discuss what the future of the park could be with each other and the design team. The team also held in-depth discussions with visitors to understand their experiences and aspirations in more detail.
The Moakley Park Winter Warmer showed visitors of all ages how the park can remain active during winter and brought people together to continue to shape the future of Moakley Park.
