Mayor Walsh announces Denyel Fonseca as neighborhood liaison for Hyde Park

Mayor Martin J. Walsh today announced the appointment of Denyel Fonseca as the neighborhood liaison for Hyde Park.

Mayor Martin J. Walsh today announced the appointment of Denyel Fonseca as the neighborhood liaison for Hyde Park. In this role, Denyel will serve as the primary contact for constituents and businesses looking to connect with the Mayor's Office, and will facilitate the delivery of services in collaboration with City departments.

“I’d like to congratulate Denyel on joining the ONS team as our Hyde Park liaison. We’re very excited to have her,” said Mayor Walsh. “She’s dedicated to bettering her community and helping Boston’s residents, and we’re proud to welcome her to the Office of Neighborhood Services.”

The Mayor's Office of Neighborhood Services (ONS) encourages, facilitates and maximizes citizen input and participation through service requests, neighborhood meetings, mailings, and emergency responses. To report non-emergency issues to the City, residents are encouraged to connect with BOS:311 by dialing 3-1-1 or by downloading the free BOS:311 app on iOS or Android platforms.

Born and raised in Boston, Denyel was a METCO student who graduated from Concord Carlisle Regional High School. She’s pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the Westfield State University where she is a part of the Urban Education program and was also inducted into the Psi Chi International Honors Society in Psychology

Denyel’s first memorable city experience was at the nonprofit organization Crossroads, where she attended camp and later became an employee. During her years working with the organization she helped to provide a safe place for children and teens who experienced trauma or crisis. Denyel has also worked as an Assistant Site Director for the Hyde Park YMCA, in addition to being a Preschool UPK Assistant Teacher at Crispus Attucks Children’s Center in Dorchester.

"I strongly believe that one should be the change they wish to see in the world and I am committed to being the example in my community to foster positive change and growth for the residents”, said Denyel Fonseca. “Being in this role will give me the opportunity to do a lot of good and I am honored to represent the Mayor's Office of Neighborhood Services in Hyde Park.”

In her free time, Denyel loves to meditate, sing, write and listen to music. She also loves the outdoors and when the weather permits, enjoys activities such as swimming, hiking, and camping. Denyel resides in Hyde Park.
