¡Feliz Día de la Independencia de Republica Dominicana!

Thursday, February 27, 2020, marked the 176th anniversary of Dominican Independence Day, and Councilor O’Malley hosted the Dominican Flag Raising this week at City Hall.

During the reception, the Dominican Foundation of Art and Culture of Boston (FUNDOARCU), presented scholarships to seven students, who have shown academic excellence and service in the community. They also awarded two community leaders, Eduardo Guerrero and Silverio Reyes.

The flag raising was a great celebration for Councilor Mejia who is the first Dominican elected to the Boston City Council.
