City Council recognizes National Forensic Science Week

The Council voted to adopt a resolution recognizing the week of September 15 – 21 as National Forensic Science Week in the City of Boston.

Speaking in regards to the resolution, Councilor Essaibi-George said, “I think it's important to recognize the men and women both uniformed and civilian employees that are doing the work – our Boston Police Crime Lab in particular. They are understaffed, under-resourced, well over capacity. The work that they need to do is very important, not just for justice, but for really solving the problems or the symptoms of crime.”

National Forensic Science week began in 2013 to recognize forensic scientists and professionals, and the important role they play in the criminal justice system.
