City Council holds first virtual meeting to prevent spread of COVID-19
To prevent the spread of COVID-19 and for the safety of visitors and dedicated staff, Council President Janey closed the Boston City Council offices and facilities located at City Hall.
As a result, the Boston City Council held their first virtual Council meeting, conducting business over the online platform Zoom in order to exercise social distancing.
The City Council will remain closed until further notice and will continue to hold meetings and hearings via Zoom. On Monday March 23, 2020 at 1:00 PM, the Council will hold a virtual Public Health hearing regarding the City of Boston's preparedness for the coronavirus strain. Members of the public are invited to attend and testify via Zoom meeting.
Please email Shane.Pac@Boston.gov for the Zoom link. A comprehensive list of ways to view and participate in this hearing will be posted online and on the City Council’s social media pages prior to the start of the hearing.
Although City Council offices are closed, members of the public can still contact their City Councilor by phone or email. Please see the directory at the bottom of the newsletter.
