2018 Halloween traffic advisory

Streets in Boston's neighborhoods will be closed to traffic for Halloween-related events.

Several streets in Boston's neighborhoods will be closed to traffic on Wednesday, October 31, due to Halloween related events.   Drivers are asked to detour around these areas, and to travel slowly and carefully on all other local streets as children will be out enjoying the holiday .  

The following streets in the Back Bay will be closed to traffic from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM.

  • Marlborough Street, Berkeley Street to Fairfield Street

The following streets on Beacon Hill will be closed to traffic from 4 PM to 8 PM.

  • Pinckney Street, Joy Street to Charles Street
  • Mt. Vernon Street, Joy Street to Charles Street
  • Chestnut Street, Walnut Street to Charles Street
  • West Cedar Street, Revere Street to Chestnut Street
  • Anderson Street, Myrtle Street to Pinckney Street
  • Branch Street, Charles Street to Spruce Street

The following streets in Charlestown will be closed to traffic from 4 PM to 8 PM.

  • Monument Avenue, from Warren Street to Monument Square
  • All of Monument Square
  • Winthrop Street, Monument Square to Common Street
  • Common Street, Winthrop Street to Adams Street
  • Adams Street, Common Street to Winthrop Street
  • Park Street, Common Street to Winthrop Street

“Tow Zone No Stopping Boston Police Special Event Wednesday 12 PM to 8 PM” parking restrictions will be in effect as well.

The following streets in Dorchester will be closed to traffic.

  • Crockett Avenue, Milton Street to Gallivan Boulevard, from 4 PM to 8 PM
  • Ceylon Street, Quincy Street to Columbia Road, from 3 PM to 7 PM - Tow Zone No Stopping Boston Police Special Event 1 PM to 7 PM” parking restrictions will be in effect as well.
  • Southern Avenue, Talbot Avenue to Whitfield Street, from 3 PM to 8 PM

The following streets in Jamaica Plain will be closed to traffic from 4:30 PM to 8 PM.

  • Dunster Road, Centre Street to Dane Street

The following streets in Roslindale will be closed to traffic.

  • Mendum Street, Fairview Street to Walter Street - from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM
  • South Street, South Street at Mosgrove Street to Washington Street – from 5:30 PM to 8 PM
  • Mosgrove Street, South Street at Mosgrove Street to Washington Street – from 5:30 PM to 8 PM

The following streets in South Boston will be closed to traffic from 2:00 PM to 8 PM.

  • Beckler Avenue, K Street to the Dead End

The following streets in the South End will be closed to traffic from 5 PM to 8 PM.

  • Rutland Street, Tremont Street to Shawmut Avenue
