Join the Office of Workforce Development for the 3rd Annual Apprenticeship Fair on Tuesday, November 19, 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. at the Roxbury Branch of the Boston Public Library. You can explore apprenticeship programs available in Boston that can help forge your pathway to success. There will be organizations from various industries including Hospitality, Healthcare, Life Sciences, Construction, and more!

The City of Boston’s Office of Small Business and participating Main Streets organizations are hosting four liquor license information sessions across different Boston neighborhoods throughout October.

• Thursday, October 10: Dorchester Info Session at Dorchester Bay Economic Development, 594 Columbia Road, Boston, MA 02125 from 2:00pm to 3:00 pm
• Thursday, October 17: Hyde Park/Mattapan Info Session at Voltage Park Event Center, 1260 River Street, Hyde Park, MA 02136 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm
• Thursday, October 24: JP/Roslindale/West Roxbury Info Session at TBD from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm
• Thursday, October 31: Roxbury/South End Info Session at School Committee Room, Bruce Bolling Building 2300 Washington Street, Roxbury, MA 02119 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm

Business owners interested in applying for a liquor license or learning more about the new liquor license legislation are encouraged to attend these sessions to learn more about the liquor license application process, and resources and support provided by the Office of Small Business and City of Boston Licensing Board.

The purpose of this meeting is to get community input and listen to the resident's positions on this proposal. This is a virtual meeting via Zoom.

The event is an educational tasting event that will feature Mixologist Brooke Rose offering innovative mocktails you can make at home using fresh and local ingredients. The event is accompanied by Deep House Music. A Chef demo will offer tasty bites from Haley House.

Each fall, Medicare holds its Open Enrollment period, when members can assess current healthcare plans and prescription medications. Age Strong's certified SHINE (serving the health insurance needs of everyone) counselors will host in-person Open Enrollment and benefits events across the city for Boston residents age 60+ to make sure you're getting the best coverage for the least cost. 

It's recommended that every older adult assess plans each year, as medical needs change and prescription medication costs adjust. 

Age Strong advocates will be on-site to also help older adults find out if you're eligible for other cost-saving benefits including fuel assistance and food resources.
