The City of Boston is hosting fix-it clinics at eight different Boston Public Library locations. A Fix-It Clinic is a free event where Boston residents can bring their broken household items to learn and repair, so that they are not trashed. You can bring items including:
- Clothing and fabric
- Computers and phones
- Toys and wooden items
- Kitchen equipment
- Small electrical devices
- Jewelry
- And more!

On March 29, 2023 Governor Healy approved an extension to remote and hybrid meeting options for public bodies established under Former Governor Baker's Executive Order of March 12, 2020 Suspending Certain Provisions of the Open Meeting Law through March 31, 2025. The Public Facilities Commission (PFC) will continue to conduct its meetings virtually. Feeding Families Food Drive with Catholic Charities Boston
Help families struggling with food insecurity by donating non-perishables or grocery gift cards to Catholic Charities Yawkey Food Pantry, which distributes food to approximately 200 families daily within the Dorchester and Boston community.
Items or grocery cards may be dropped off at the front reception desk of the pantry located at 185 Columbia Road in Dorchester between 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 15 or anytime between 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. throughout the week.
Suggested items include non-perishable grains such as cereal, mac and cheese, rice, and spaghetti; and non-expired canned goods such as canned fruit, canned vegetables, tuna fish, tomato sauce, and beans.
