Mayor Wu announced a heat emergency in the City of Boston through Wednesday, July 17. Cooling centers will be open at 14 BCYF community centers Monday through Wednesday, from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Safety improvements will be coming soon to the Franklin Park Bear Dens. The community engagement process will begin in January 2024, with a construction start anticipated in summer 2024. The focus of this project will be to make conditions safe for visitors.
