Help Shape the Decision: Game Day Parking Protection Programs

The City is proposing two parking programs for Boston Legacy FC game days to prevent game spectators from parking within Franklin Park or surrounding neighborhood streets and we are looking for residents to help inform the final decision.

How Game-Day Parking Protection Programs Could Work

The two proposed parking protection programs will only activate during the 20 Boston Legacy game days per year for a 5-hour period (2 hours before a game, the duration of the game, and 1 hour after). If implemented, these programs include:

Resident street parking protection

Should parking on streets within a 0.75 mile zone near the stadium be preserved for only residents and their visitors on game days? Eligible streets within this zone, roughly a 15-minute walk, are in purple below.

We are asking residents who live on streets in Roxbury and Jamaica Plain within the proposed zone to inform this decision. The map and full list of eligible streets are listed below.

Franklin Park parking protection program

Should parking at Franklin Park be preserved for zoo goers, golfers, event permit holders and causal park users and restricted to Boston Legacy game goers on game days? If so, how long should casual park users be able to park?

Survey responses from the nearby neighborhoods of Roxbury, Jamaica Plain, Dorchester, and Mattpan will help inform the City’s decision on this proposed program.

How Parking Program Decision are Made

  1. Community meetings: Complete. The City shared the proposed plan with neighbors in Roxbury, Dorchester, Mattapan, and Jamaica Plain in September 2026.
  2. Resident survey: Open now through October 24, 2026. Everyone can share feedback, no matter which neighborhood you live in. Take the survey.
  3. Neighborhood meetings: October–November 2026. Neighborhood associations in Jamaica Plain and Roxbury will hold their own meetings to discuss parking protection recommendations. (See Dates Below)
  4. Neighborhood recommendations: Due November 23rd, 2026. Each neighborhood association will send its recommendations to the City.
  5. Final decisions: Winter 2027. The White Stadium Neighborhood Advisory Council and the City will announce the plan for the first season.
