Kenya Joseph
Kenya Joseph was born and raised in Hyde Park and currently resides in Dorchester. A proud graduate of Boston Public Schools, she earned her Bachelor’s degree from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and went on to complete a Master’s in Public Health with a concentration in Global Health from Southern New Hampshire University.
As a young person, Kenya was deeply involved in Boston-based programs such as Peace Games and Citizen Schools, where she developed leadership skills and forged strong community connections. These formative experiences instilled in her a commitment to giving back to her city and advocating for future generations of Boston residents.
Before joining the Mayor's Cabinet of Community Engagement, Kenya served as Executive Assistant & Special Projects Coordinator at The Center for Teen Empowerment. In this role, she led special projects, coordinated volunteer initiatives, and supported the organization’s mission of empowering youth and advocating for social justice.
Outside of her professional life, Kenya values self-care and enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephews, traveling, volunteering, and staying active. Whether practicing yoga, enjoying a weekend getaway, or engaging with local community organizations, she strives to maintain a balanced and fulfilling lifestyle.
