Adopt A Block
This initiative is a partnership between the City of Boston and the faith community. Our goal is to serve neighborhoods that have historically experienced an increase in violence during the summer months.
We recognize the critical role that faith-based organizations play in delivering crucial programs and services. This is especially true in underserved Black and Brown communities. Our “Adopt a Block'' Initiative supports faith institutions’ efforts to connect and support the safety and health of residents. This initiative will be piloted in Roxbury, Dorchester, and Mattapan. Through this initiative, we aim to:
- build trust between the City and residents
- strengthen relationships between the City and critical faith organizations
- provide opportunities for community engagement, and
- improve delivery of City services to families most impacted by violence.
