Teakia Brown
Teakia Brown is the Director of the Education and Community Engagement Division in the Infectious Disease Bureau at Boston Public Health Commission. She is an Executive Master of Public Health program candidate the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University, focused on Prevention science. Ms. Brown has ten years of experience utilizing equitable community engagement strategies across public and private sectors and has a proven track-record of building cross-sector partnerships. She co-led strategic planning as a member of the Grant Management Team for federal grants to address teen dating violence prevention, youth violence, racial equity, and the social determinants of health to develop systems- and community-level changes. Nationally recognized for her work producing a trauma-informed prevention podcast series on Spotify, Teakia continues to apply innovative and evidence-based communication strategies that advance the health and wellbeing of Boston residents.
