What is an age-friendly business?

An age- and dementia-friendly business is one in which people of all ages and abilities can comfortably shop for goods or services. Certified businesses have taken steps to make their spaces more inclusive. These include:

  • ensuring that they have a respectful and patient staff
  • providing resting areas and non-slip flooring, and
  • using universal symbols, like arrows.

2

Meet with our volunteer business ambassador

When you meet with the ambassador, you’ll go over our business checklist and process.

Complete employee customer service training

As a business owner or manager, you’ll go over best practices with your employees. We’ll provide you with the materials for this training.
