Mid-Dorchester

A small part of the City’s biggest neighborhood.

The City is bringing lots of new development to the area, including housing and light industrial and commercial opportunities. With the improvement of the Fairmount/ Indigo Line, there's now easy access to jobs and the downtown financial area.

Key locations

Mid-Dorchester Corridor

The Mid-Dorchester corridor is made up of four main sections:

  • Uphams Corner
  • Bowdoin/Geneva
  • Four Corners, and
  • Codman Square.

Each section has it’s unique flavor. We have a very diverse area, ranging from Cape Verdeans, Latinos, Caribbean, and Vietnamese population.  There are plenty of dining opportunity in the neighborhood.

History and beautiful views

Dorchester North is one of the oldest burial grounds, 1st Parish Church on Revere Allen square is one of the City's oldest churches, and you can get a great view of the City from Ronan park.

Community centers

We have three community centers, a Boys and Girls Club, a YMCA, and the Krok Center. They all offer recreational programs for a neighborhood that features one of the City’s highest concentrations of teens.

Strand Theatre

The Strand Theatre in Uphams Corner is a main attraction, and features many shows and performances.
