Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. lived a life dedicated to social justice, equity, service, and community. Under the leadership of Mayor Michelle Wu, the City recently announced two new offices committed to service: The Office of Civic Organizing and the Office of Black Male Advancement.

The Mayor’s Office of Civic Organizing is committed to collaborative partnerships and programs which encourage proactive community engagement, awareness, and service in our neighborhoods.

The Office of Black Male Advancement works to empower Black men and boys to ensure they have equitable access to opportunities in the City. As part of their work, they focus on policies, programs, resources, and local and national partnerships.

The Office of Civic Organizing and The Office of Black Male Advancement invites you to join a virtual panel discussion in honor of MLK’s legacy and to uplift the power of being civically engaged. This event will be a safe space to also discuss the ongoing work required to address social justice and equity in our city.

**This is a virtual discussion, a Zoom link will be emailed to registered participants prior to the event.**

Chief Chat: Brianna Millor

Meet the City of Boston's Chief of Community Engagement (and SPARK's Chief), Brianna Millor!

January 12, 2023
2023-01-12T18:00:00 - 2023-01-12T20:00:00

SPARK's signature fireside chat series, Chief Chats, returns for conversation with our Chief, Chief of Community Engagement Brianna Millor! Chief Millor oversees all Community Engagement departments at City Hall including 311, ONS, Office of Civic Organizing, and of course, SPARK Boston. Her role in City Hall helps to eliminate silos between City departments and connect residents of all ages to streamlined constituent services.

And what better place to connect you to the Queen of Community Engagement herself than in City Hall's newest space: the City Plaza Pavilion Meeting Room! Learn about Chief Millor's extensive work in community from her days as a youth organizer and Mayor Wu's communications intern to leading the cabinet at the center of it all in the City of Boston. We'll provide light refreshments if you provide your questions about the Community Engagement Cabinet. We look forward to seeing you there!

Please note: event location subject to change.
